Young Discoverers is a Childcare facility launched in Escrick on 4th November 2008. We provide high quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 11 years through our daycare nursery and before and after school facility. We have worked very closely with Escrick C of E Primary School in respect of the before and after school facility which is located at the school itself. The nursery is located a short distance away at Escrick Business Park near to the A19 trunk road running between York and Selby.
We became an Ofsted approved setting at the Before and After School Club in January 2009, and increased our trading hours to 7.30am - 9.00am and 3.15pm - 6.15pm each weekday during term time. We are also registered for the nursery setting, and opened for business on Tuesday 5th May 2009 after the May Day Bank Holiday. We held our Nursery open day on Friday 1st May, and welcomed all children, parents, grandparents, carers, and all other interested parties who came and joined us, met the staff, and allowed us to show off our fabulous facility. We have some fantastic toys and equipment, and had lots of children to help us test them out that day too.
We relish giving your child an experience that enhances their day, and provides new opportunities for discovery. Our range of activities for the various age groups gives them everything they need to ensure that you can leave them in total peace of mind. Our staff provide a warm welcome, and genuine care for your child, listening to their individual needs, and those of their parents.
If you are interested in placing your child with us, we are taking registrations for both the Nursery, and the Before and After School Club subject to availability. On our website we aim to give you a picture of the philosophy we adopt to provide the very best for your children, but ask for your feedback on the service, and what else you would like us to provide. Choosing the right childcare is a huge decision, and we welcome you to pop in for a visit ( and a play) any time, and ask us anything that may occur to you. Settling children in is something we take very seriously, and we will conduct a home visit with your child's allocated key person to understand how they like to play, and what their interests are.
We will keep you updated of all developments with Young Discoverers, the events we have been holding, such as our recent holiday club, and everything you would expect from the best in childcare. We received the keys to the Nursery building on Friday 20th March, and have made some fantastic adjustments for this to be just an amazing facility for the children, including installing special little people toilets, a kitchen to provide cooked lunches and other meals, and a lovely enclosed garden with our very own fruit and vegetable patch, and some stimulating outdoor play area.
